My first few days in Germany

My first few days in Germany have been very intresting to say the least. There are so many differences that it's hard to take in all at once. On Monday we had our first day of German High School. Their school is so much smaller than back home. I believe they said their school is a little over 1000 kids and that's grades k-13. Compared to back home, that isn't very big considering that Har-Ber alone had 2600 students just in grades 10-12!

Tuesday has been my favorite day so far. Getting to tour the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was amazing. I've always wanted to be able to see one in person and I had no idea we were going until that day, so it came as a surprise. Getting to see the camp helped put the evil behind the camps really into place. The entire place had a very dark and creeping vibe going on. A sense of restlessness was about. As a WWII nerd it was aweome to finally be able to see.

Diversity in Berlin is a lot different than back home. Where you can see all different types of people of different skin colors and different ethnicities (THANKS FRAU). Here in Berlin there are all different types of ethnicities, but majority of people are light-skinned. Those people who aren't light-skinned, they aren't rare, but they definitely do stand out.
