So we arrived here on Saturday and I already explained how that went. Going to bed was all I wanted to do. But anyways, I am enjoying my trip! Experiencing the "German Life" is going very well. Seeing how different my life is from theirs is really cool. Especially because I don't really live an American life, I live a Marshallese life. But living a German life right now is a great experience for me.I lived a Marshallese life my wholelife. It's time to take a break. Just kidding.
The field trips we went on during the week was really cool EXCEPT the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. It was so hot and it took forever for us to go through most of the sites in the camp. I liked learning new things about the concentration camp and how it was like and all that. But, it was just way too heiß (hot)! I personally enjoyed the other field trips we went on so far. On Sunday,we had a bike tour all around Berlin. Riding a bike from one landmark to the next was really fun and educational! I've always wanted to see the Berlin wall and the Brandenburger Gate. And guess what? I got to see the Berlin wall and Brandenburger Gate! Yay for me. But we saw more than those two landmarks. One of my personal favorites was the Jewish Memorial. The way the memorial was made could mean a lot of things. So the memorial has small little rectangular stones on the outside and as you work your way in the stones get bigger and taller and the ground level gets steeper. The way I saw this was like the Jews first started off easy working for the Nazis. And as time flew by their working conditions and the way they got treated was getting worse and worse. Another field trip we went on was the Berliner Unterwelten. That tour was way better than the tour at the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. The Berliner Unterwelten was a bunker that wasn't really made to be a bunker during the WW2. Some rooms in the bunker were really hard to breathe in. On the other hand, some rooms were easy to breathe in. Some rooms had air vents and some didn't. The Berliner Unterwelten tour was the most educational and interesting field trip we've went on so far. I still can't believe there were actual things from the actual WW2. We weren't allowed to touch anything. But, I secretly touched the helmet, bomb, and the coffin. The texture of it felt really really weird.
Well, I'm obviously enjoying Germany so much. Can't wait to see what next week is going to consist of.
OHH MYY GAHH I'm so jealous. lmao @.I lived a Marshallese life my wholelife. It's time to take a break. Just kidding😂😂😂
