What to blog...

So...as a part of the GAPP exchange, the students have to blog about their experiences in Germany.  For our project, we are looking at our expectations of what will happen in Germany versus the reality.  Each student must post on the blog BEFORE we leave for Germany (June 6th!) and then 3 times while we are in Germany.
Since my students have to do it, I thought I'd give it a try :)
This first post is supposed to be about our expectations of what our trip to Germany will be like.  Since I've already been to Germany a few times, I decided to talk about my expectations of staying with my host partner, Steffi.
I expect that it will be wonderful to meet with her husband and daughter!  Steffi talked about them so much when she was here that I feel like I know them and can't wait to meet them.
I expect that we will sit on her balcony fairly often and just chat and talk about all the funny things our students did that day :)!
Steffi and her family live in an apartment in a really great location, but it doesn't have an extra bedroom, so I expect that I will have to get used to different sleeping arrangements and have patience and a sense of humor while I'm there.
I expect to see parts of Berlin that I've never seen before, and to gain new perspective on parts of Berlin that I got to see the last time I was there.
I expect to eat Hanuta!  and Döner!  and lots of great food!
I hope that I will get to hear GREAT stories from my students about all the fun they are having with their German host families.  I hope that this is an experience that will open their eyes to many different things, give them a love for travel, and that they will, like I, never forget their host family and their hospitality.
41 more days!!
